Grown Uniform Kids Forum

You grew up with a scanner on the counter, a countdown on the fridge, or a parent who slept all day. You are eighteen or older now, and it is still part of who you are. A room for the grown children of firefighters, paramedics, officers, medical workers, and service members.

You were raised by the uniform. In here, everyone was.

Who This Room Is For

For the Kids Who Grew Up

Adults, eighteen and over, who were raised by a parent in any of the six uniform pillars, whether that parent is still serving, retired, or gone.

What It Did to You

The good and the hard: the pride, the missed birthdays, the fear you learned young, and the way you still flinch at a siren.

Following or Not

Some of you went into the uniform. Some of you swore you never would. Both belong here, and so does the conversation between them.

Your Parent Now

Retired parents, injured parents, parents who did not come home. How grown uniform kids carry that and care for them.

How the Room Works

Private. Verified. Yours.

The conversation lives in the Uniform Families Foundation community on Circle, not on Facebook and not on this page. Every member is verified by us before they are let in. Request below, we confirm who you are, and your invitation comes by email.

  • Eighteen and over only. We confirm age and a uniform parent before anyone is let in.
  • What is said in the room stays in the room. No screenshots, no reposting.
  • Your parent's job stays your parent's job. No agency names, no case or call details.
  • Every pillar is equal here. A cop's kid and a nurse's kid grew up in the same house in different uniforms.
  • Respect the ones whose parent did not come home. They are in the room.
  • If someone is in crisis, we step in. The room is not a substitute for 988.

Why We Built This

Because the Kids Grow Up Inside the Uniform

Uniform Families Foundation made Uniform Kids its sixth pillar because the children carry the job too, and nobody counts them. The kids who grew up that way do not stop being uniform kids at eighteen. This room is where they find each other.

Uniform Families Foundation communities are peer support and are not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. Membership requires verification and is limited to adults eighteen and over. We never share member information.
