Retired Medics Forum
Paramedic and EMS | A Uniform Families Foundation Community
Retired Medics Forum
You hung up the radio. The calls did not hang up with you. A room for the medics who did their years and now live with the quiet, the pension, the back, and the memories.
The radio is off. The room is open.
Who This Room Is For
For the Medics Who Finished
Retired and medically retired paramedics and EMTs, and medics who left the field after years on the rig.
After the Box
What the first year off the rig is really like, from medics who are living it.
The Body
Backs, knees, shoulders, hearing. The bill for twenty years of lifting comes due. Compare notes.
Still a Medic
Mentoring rookies, teaching, volunteering, and the pull to go back. You are still one of us.
How the Room Works
Private. Verified. Yours.
The conversation lives in the Uniform Families Foundation community on Circle, not on Facebook and not on this page. Every member is verified by us before they are let in. Request below, we confirm who you are, and your invitation comes by email.
- Verified EMS only, plus family in the family room. We confirm employment or enrollment before anyone is let in.
- What is said in the room stays in the room. No screenshots, no reposting.
- No patient details, ever. Talk about the call, not the patient.
- No department politics by name. Talk about the job, not the chief.
- Respect every agency: fire based, private, hospital based, county, and volunteer.
- If someone is in crisis, we step in. The room is not a substitute for 988 or the Fire and EMS Helpline.

Why We Built This
Because Retirement Is Its Own Call
The fire service throws a party when a medic retires and then the phone stops ringing. Uniform Families Foundation built this room so the medics who spent their careers showing up for everyone else have somewhere to show up for each other.
Uniform Families Foundation communities are peer support and are not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. Membership requires verification. We never share member information.
